Renewable energy specialist Rena International started a construction ceremony on June 4 at a plant that produces solar cell modules, land and marine structures, and energy storage units (ESS) in Saemangeum.
At the opening ceremony, Kim Hyung-suk (Director of Development for the Semangum), Jeong Dong-yong (Representative of the Democratic Peace Party), Lee Won-taek (Deputy Governor of Jeollabuk Do), Lee Seung-bok (Deputy Mayor of Gunsan City) Gang Palmun (President of the Saemangeum Development Corporation) and others were present.
Rena International will invest a total of 55.5 billion won in the long-term rental land (76000 ㎡) of the Saemangeum Industrial Complex 2 until 2021 to construct a solar cell module, land / floating solar structure and ESS production plant as expected.
Rena International is the first foreign investment company to participate in the construction of the Saemangeum Renewable Energy Cluster, which is scheduled to have 15 billion won of direct foreign investment. Japan’s renewable energy company INFLUX develops and invests, and JA Solar of China invests technical alliances and in-kind.
