I have been involved in the renewable energy industry, primarily in solar power,
for approximately 10 years. During this time, I have played a key role in developing approximately 1GW of power plants. However, I have also witnessed the "darker side" of renewable energy, such as projects that do not contribute to local production and consumption.
Motivated by a desire to break conventional frameworks and develop large-scale energy infrastructure projects that truly benefit society and drive regional development, I established an innovative company in 2010 (now INFLUX COMMUNICATION) and founded IRE Co., Ltd. in 2023.At INFLUX COMMUNICATION, our core theme is "Jimoto First"—placing local communities at the center.
We strive to recognize the needs of each region, address local challenges through renewable energy projects and create new models for regional development.
Over the past decade in the Japanese market, we have developed over 550MW of solar assets with a total project value of $1 billion, later selling them to institutional investors.Additionally, we have spearheaded the development of small-scale biomass projects and initiated circular biomass business ventures.
Beyond Japan, we have expanded into solar and wind power development across Asia, operating companies throughout the region.
We have established a strong position in development, permitting, EPC, financing, and stakeholder management backed by extensive experience in all aspects of renewable energy plant construction.
Co-Founder, Co-CEO
Joy Bishoen has developed utility scale Solar and Wind Power projects across Asia
with 10 years experience in the renewable energy sector.
Influx is currently developing over 1.5GW of renewable energy projects across Asia:
>300MW (10 projects) of Solar PV Assets in Japan on behalf of institutional investors,
>900MW of greenfield Solar and offshore Wind assets in Japan (proprietary),
>350MW of greenfield Solar Assets in India and Korea (proprietary),
>& a project pipeline of an additional 1.5GW.
Over the past 10 years, Bishoen has developed and sold 20 MW of Solar PV projects
in Canada (an approximate total project value of $50M) to institutional investors.
He has led the refinancing of a 13MW Distributed Solar PV portfolio in the United States
and sourced investors and capital for a Japanese Solar PV portfolio ($150M).
Bishoen has experience across all aspects of renewable energy power plants
including development, permitting, EPC, project financing and stakeholder management.
Bishoen is an investor in several start-ups in Europe and India
in the technology and FMCG sectors.
